Biography
Basin & Range has been building a steady following in the Northwest since their inception in 2006. Citing influences as varied as Medeski, Martin & Wood, Maceo Parker, The Talking Heads and King Crimson, B & R creates original intellectual instrumentals. The goal is to bend the mind and sway the hips.
A typical Basin & Range rehearsal includes about 95% discussion and 5% actual playing, yet somehow songs keep getting written...and re-written. Mass conversation has led to tighter and tighter sets, more intricate rhythms, and funkier grooves.
Basin & Range is based in Eugene, OR and is comfortable playing anywhere from a basement house party to a classy jazz club to an outdoor festival.
